The Captains Club is just a small way for student-athletes in Malverne to explore the different roles, responsibilities and expectations of what it takes to be a team leader. It doesn’t matter if you’re a captain, a bench player or anything in between. Be ready to enhance your leadership skills, because being a part of this is a step towards getting better, not only as an athlete, but as a student.

Exemplary Sportsmanship

Malverne High School was given the 2017 Award of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. The award is presented to schools that have developed proactive approaches in keeping sportsmanship at the forefront for their students, coaches, spectators and communities, as well as to schools that are promoting positive sportsmanship within their athletic department. Malverne instills the NYSPHSAA Code of Conduct with all of its student-athletes.

“It is not surprising that we have earned this honor, as we hold our athletes to the highest standard of sportsmanship,” district athletic director Micheal Pelan said.

Congratulations to each of the Malverne athletes, their coaches and their families who are the true recipients of this award.
