Transportation Policy Based on Ridership
On August 9, 2011 the Malverne Board of Education adopted a new transportation policy that allows the District to provide bus service based on ridership.
Starting the 2011-2012 School Year the Malverne once it is determined the number of actual seats typically used, the district must add 10 percent in seating capacity above this number, so that the District is prepared for unanticipated riders.

Below is the aforementioned Resolution adopted by the Board:
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE TRANSPORTATION POLICY BASED UPON PATTERNS OF ACTUAL RIDERSHIP
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that, pursuant to Education Law §3635(8), the Board of Education of the Malverne UFSD intends to provide student transportation based upon patterns of actual ridership.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the District shall place such transportation plans on the District’s Website on or before August 15, 2011, and shall prepare a back up plan as part of its emergency management practices for pupil transportation in the event that a bus is filled beyond capacity.
